Finally, Some Truth...
We have more important issues to deal with than Imus. If we are unwilling to clean up the filth and disrespect we heap on each other, nothing will change with our condition. You can fire every Don Imus in the country, and our incarceration rate, fatherless-child rate, illiteracy rate and murder rate will still continue to skyrocket.
A man who doesn’t respect himself wastes his breath demanding that others respect him.
We don’t respect ourselves right now. If we did, we wouldn’t call each other the N-word. If we did, we wouldn’t let people with prison values define who we are in music and videos. If we did, we wouldn’t call black women bitches and hos and abandon them when they have our babies.
If we had the proper level of self-respect, we wouldn’t act like it’s only a crime when a white man disrespects us. We hold Imus to a higher standard than we hold ourselves. That’s a (freaking) shame.
We need leadership that is interested in fixing the culture we’ve adopted. We need leadership that makes all of us take tremendous pride in educating ourselves. We need leadership that can reach professional athletes and entertainers and get them to understand that they’re ambassadors and play an important role in defining who we are and what values our culture will embrace.
It’s time for Jesse and Al to step down. They’ve had 25 years to lead us. Other than their accountants, I’d be hard pressed to find someone who has benefited from their administration.

Don Imus, Al Sharpton, NAACP & Rutgers Women's Basketball
* At a 1991 funeral of a Black child accidentally killed by an out-of-control car driven by a Jew, Sharpton delivered this eulogy:
Talk about how Oppenheimer in South Africa sends diamonds straight to Tel Aviv and deals with the diamond merchants right here in Crown Heights.Oppenheimer is the Jewish family that is a big player in the diamond industry, and Crown Heights is a Chassidic Jewish community, some of whose residents are in the diamond industry. It was clear he was denouncing the Jews. Sharpton spoke of how these "diamond merchants" had "the blood of innocent babies" on their hands and exhorted the crowd to commit violence in the Crown Heights, Brooklyn Jewish community:
If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house.Shouting, "No Justice, No Peace" with the funeral crowd, he incited riots in Crown Heights where a mob shouting, "Kill the Jews!" surrounded Jewish rabbinical student Yankel Rosenbaum and stabbed him to death.
* In 1995, Sharpton incited the shooting and arson murder of seven employees of Freddy's Fashion Mart. When the Black landlord raised the rent on Freddy's White (and Jewish) owner, he was forced to raise the rent on his Black subtenant. Sharpton organized a protest, at which he announced:
We will not stand by and allow them to move this brother so that some white interloper can expand his business.Sharpton stood by and nodded in agreement as speakers and the crowd shouted: "Burn down the Jew store!" "We're going to see that this cracker suffers."
A protester shot four employees and set fire to Freddy's. It burnt to the ground and seven employees--all of them minorities--died.
Jackson and Sharpton. These are the new gods of race merchantry to which all others must apologize?
Next, the kettle will be apologizing to the pot. And the pot will say it's not enough.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic’s TRISTAN PROJECT
LA PHILHARMONIC’S TRISTAN PROJECT RETURNS TO THE WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL APRIL 2007
Opera to Feature Legendary Director Peter Sellars, Visual Artist Bill Viola and Conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen
What: Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Esa-Pekka Salonen teams with dynamic director Peter Sellars and celebrated video artist Bill Viola for the Tristan Project, a multi-discipline arts experience at Walt Disney Concert Hall, designed around Richard Wagner's seminal opera, Tristan und Isolde. Presenting one semi-staged act per night along with works influenced by Tristan und Isolde, Salonen and the Philharmonic perform the complete opera twice. Each act includes video art exploring the underlying themes of the opera: betrayal, transformation, rebirth, memory, and time.
Who: The trio of Salonen, Sellars, and Viola plan to produce a Tristan stretching the boundaries of Wagnerian production in a setting (Walt Disney Concert Hall) that lends itself to exploration. "Tristan und Isolde is a tale of a love so overwhelming and intense it transcends mortal bounds. This project represents an exciting opportunity to collaborate with fellow artists Peter Sellars and Esa-Pekka Salonen, to explore and draw fresh inspiration from both the story and the great creative work of Richard Wagner, and to re-tell this medieval myth of timeless significance and universal relevance," Bill Viola says.
Vocal soloists for Tristan include soprano Christine Brewer as Isolde; tenor Alan Woodrow as Tristan; mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter, as Brangäne; baritone Jukka Rasilainen as Kurwenal; tenor Michael Slattery as Sailor's Voice; Men of Los Angeles Master Chorale and music director Grant Gershon

I am Cuba
"Soy Cuba" is a film I've loved for many years. Although it's a glorious propaganda film made by the communists, it also shows how glorious Cuba once was. Now it's a shithole with nothing but desperation. Beautiful film though...

Feel Good....
Dear God, Please Kill this Bigot
"You know, I hate gay people, so I let it be known."Shock and surprise... ANOTHER black homo sapien (the name "man" is reserved for noble, civilized individuals) that HATES gay people. Maybe we'll get lucky and one of his crack-head bruthas from the hood will bust a cap in his rich monkey-faced, mutha-fuckin' ass... just his. No one else's.
UPDATE: A friend said I should take this post down because it is racist. I disagree. I've used this same sort of inflammatory criticism towards, e.g., Paris Hilton, Brandon Davis, Jerry Falwell, et al.. The friend also stated that by definition, black people cannot be racist because they are a minority in a white majority country. He even called up slavery as an excuse, presumably for every negative behavior in black American culture.
I told him he was blinded by his own erroneous logic, not based in reality or truth. I believe that Americans in general have become so hyper-sensitive to race that all logic, truth, and discernment have been thrown out the window. What a crying shame.
If you refuse to hold individuals, and yes, even certain racial, social, economic, or sexual identity groups accountable for their behaviors or culture, then you enable the degeneration of that group or person and ultimately, humanity. Not speaking the truth to a situation because of the color of some one's skin pigmentation, or any other classification is, in my estimation, another, and equally negative form of racism and bigotry. You become an enabler to destructive behavior. If you truly love and care for people, a group of people, ergo humanity, then you would do or say anything necessary for their ultimate good. Or more practical and direct, do you continue to allow someone to harm you without saying a word?
On the corner of 125th Street and Lexington Avenue the other day, a black guy said in a very loud voice for all to hear, "Where da fuck did all these white mutha-fuckas come from? Why don't dey go back to da mountains where dey came from, fuckin' Hillbillies!" Imagine a white person saying something equally hateful, ignorant and racist on, say, 42nd Street and Park Avenue. But then again, according to my friend, blacks cannot be racist.
Getting off the subway two nights ago, a black guy, for no apparent reason, reached into the subway car, grabbed my jacket and pulled/shoved me out of the train onto the subway platform. He cursed me under his breath and then got on the train.
I live in predominantly ethnic neighborhoods. Not one other single race of people has ever assaulted me, insulted me, or shown any signs of aggressive racism - except black Americans. I often get treated differently in a negative way by black Americans.
My friend says I'm seeing what I'm looking for. Believe me, I don't want this treatment. I try to get along with everyone in public and hope and expect equal treatment from all people and, I live by the Golden Rule: "Treat others like you want to be treated." I'm the type of person who gets along with everyone, and I like everyone until they give me a reason not to.
